Overview

Data we collect

We gather only the details required to support Blood Moon Horror, provide community updates, and respond to player inquiries. This includes contact information submitted via forms, analytics data from anonymous traffic tools, and platform identifiers shared through Steam wishlist widgets.

  • Names and emails submitted through support, press, or newsletter forms.
  • Voluntary bug reports that may include system specs and screenshots.
  • Aggregate analytics (page views, device types) captured via Google Analytics when enabled.
  • Steam IDs or Discord handles when provided for playtests or support.
  • Steam platform data handled by Valve when you play Blood Moon Horror on Steam (account identifiers, multiplayer sessions, achievements, cloud saves, stats, and leaderboards). Valve's privacy policy governs that processing — see Steam Privacy Policy.

Blood Moon Games does not operate a separate public stats or leaderboard website. Personal Steam stats remain on Steam community profiles.

Usage

How information is used

Support & operations

  • Reply to troubleshooting questions and bug reports.
  • Deliver requested press kits or fact sheets.
  • Coordinate playtest invitations and surveys.

Marketing & updates

  • Send opt-in newsletters about development milestones.
  • Alert subscribers to live playtests or new content drops.
  • Measure anonymous traffic to improve site performance.
Accounts & rewards

Steam and Discord account linking

If you use the Feedback & Rewards page, you can sign in with Steam and optionally link your Discord account to unlock in-game rewards. This is entirely optional — the rest of the site works without it, and you can send feedback anonymously through the contact form instead.

We never see your Steam or Discord password. Both platforms handle sign-in themselves and only return the information listed below.

  • From Steam: your public SteamID, profile name, and avatar image URL.
  • From Discord: your Discord user ID, username, avatar image URL, and whether you are a member of the Blood Moon Games server. We do not request your email address or the list of other servers you belong to beyond that membership check.
  • From you: the content of any feedback report you submit, plus the build version and optional rating you provide.
  • Derived: which rewards you have unlocked and when. Your IP address is stored only as a one-way hash, used to rate-limit abuse — the original address is not retained.

This data is used solely to grant your rewards, assign your Discord role, and let the studio read and reply to your feedback. It is stored on our own hosting, is never sold or shared with advertisers, and is not used for marketing. Feedback you submit is relayed to a private studio channel in our Discord server.

Account records are kept until you ask us to remove them. Email privacy@bloodmoongames.com with your Steam profile link to unlink or delete your account and its feedback history. Deleting your account also removes your reward unlocks.

Retention & sharing

How long we keep data

Messages submitted through contact or newsletter forms are stored securely for reference while we resolve your request. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. We do not sell or rent personal information. Limited third parties help us operate:

  • Formspree processes contact and newsletter submissions.
  • Google Analytics captures anonymous site metrics when enabled in site configuration.
  • Microsoft Clarity may record anonymized session heatmaps and interaction patterns when enabled.
  • Discord widgets display live community statistics when available, and Discord's OAuth service authenticates account linking on the Feedback & Rewards page.
  • Steam (Valve) authenticates sign-in on the Feedback & Rewards page via Steam OpenID.

Analytics and session tools load only when explicitly enabled in site configuration. If consent is required for your region, a small one-time notice appears before third-party analytics scripts load. We use IP anonymization for Google Analytics where supported. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.

All partners follow industry security standards. You may request deletion of your data at any time.
